Day 11, March 26, 2016

Today we got to tour several wineries. We all pitched in on a rental van and Dean volunteered to be our sober driver. We were on the road by 1100 and at the first winery by 1130. The day was gorgeous and there were not too many people out.

It seems like all of these old Pizza Hut buildings are something else now, but this is a first.

First grapes of the day.
Naturally the boys couldn't stay away from this.
We didn't get anything other than wet feet. I would not have been surprised to find Rhys all the way in.
We had a fantastic lunch at the next place, to go with the breathtaking views. Rhys started a melt down here so I sat with him until he got some food, fried chicken, salad and chips. He ate all of his, Owyn's salad and then half of Mason's. He was much happier after getting some food in him.

Nothing but vineyards as far as we could see.
They also had a falcon rescue. She had been shot, both wings broken and they estimated she had been living on the ground for two months when she was found.
Red grapes.
The boys fought goblins, trolls and ogres in the vineyards here as well as climbing the tower a couple of times.
I have no idea what happened here. I was handed a hat and told to pose.
The last place had a tasting room for Whitehaven, which had Tracy's favorite wine of the day but also a play area for the kids.
Another amazing dinner.
We hit six or seven wineries in all. For dinner we had Sandy's amazing cheese platters, which we destroyed. Tony had invited a couple of friends over and we all played Bang! together. Apparently it doesn't always take two hours to get through a single game.

The friends went home and Tracy and Sandy went to bed so the four of us who remained played three games of Love Letter. We'll be adding this one to our collection as well.
