Day 10, March 25, 2016

This is the day that Tony had booked a fishing charter for us. We were out on the sound by 0930, shooting past the same ferry we had ridden in on the day before.

We got out to the fishing spot and threw the lines over the side. Over the next hour and a half we caught around 50 fish, eleven of which were keepers. There were times we didn't even get our line to the bottom before they were jumping on the hook. Both boys caught keepers and Owyn, especially, was thrilled to eat fish that he had caught.

All three boys looking at the other boys.
Truth here.
Master anglers; untangling our lines.
Owyn's first fish.
The keepers.
A great day on the water.

There were birds out there which were stealing some of our smaller fish off the hook. Some of us also saw a barracuda take one of Owyn's fish. Mostly we caught cod but there were a couple of other fish, which I don't know the names of.

The train ride. It was 20 cents. Nothing costs 20 cents.
Sailing in the sun.

After the fishing we went back into Picton and the kids got to play at the park. There were some small attractions, which they all enjoyed. Because it's the Easter weekend we were not able to have lunch at the bakery we wanted to, but we found one in Bleinhem and got a selection of meat pies and sandwiches and had a picnic.

We followed this up by returning to the house, where some of us took naps. Tony and I played a card game called Star Wars, Empire vs Rebellion.

Mandy took the boys out to play in the yard and then Tony and I engaged the boys in a half hour sword fight while Dean and Sandy prepared dinner.

So much goodness here.
We ended the day with theater time for the boys while we played the game Evolution.
