UK 2024 - March 15th

The 15th was Friday and was the first full day after Tracy, Rhys and Hannah arrived, along with the husband and son of one of my co-workers.

While went to work, the two families, along with my boss' wife, went into York, followed by high tea at Betty's.

The families started out by climbing to the top of York Minster.

Approaching from the train station. Hannah, Gary and Grayson are leading the way.

Tracy bought us a Christmas Ornament. We always  try to get one when we visit a place. It brings back fond memories when we decorate the tree every year.

After the Minster they headed over to the shambles.

A narrow, medieval street, one block long, loaded with shops.

Tracy found a gin shop.

York has street art named Snooks in various places.

Pub lunch. The fish platter.

The obligatory Gin and

Following lunch they headed back to the train via the old medieval walls.

The river Ouse.

The train station from atop the walls.

They passed the York Bettys, not as nice as the Harrogate one.

Looking back at the Minster from atop the wall.

Following the train ride back to Harrogate. The ladies went off to their high tea while the gentlemen retired to the Majestic Hotel for a free happy hour to celebrate Hilton members. The tea was probably the better deal.

Tiny sandwiches, sweets and rolls.

Easter is coming...

We finished the day with dinner at Mykonos, a fantastic Greek place. We were all ready for bed by 2200. A very long day for the newly arrived families.
