Day 2, June 10 2014 - part 2

Tracy and Owyn's oddessy.  Tracy and Owyn had arrived at Dulles ten minutes after we left.  They eventually got to a hotel, starving and tired.  There was nothing open so Tracy used the food vouchers to buy pringles, a cup of noodles, lemonade and a coke in the hotel store.  They slept through the night, more or less.

In the morning they took the shuttle to the airport to get a nice big breakfast, forgetting they were at Dulles where everything sucks.  They finally found a bar that had bagels and bought a couple of those.  Arriving at the gate Tracy discovered that they had assigned her and Owyn to two widely separated seats.  While this held a certain attraction for Tracy she felt obligated to mention it to the gate agent.

Without a word the agent changed their seats so the two of them could sit together.  After a brief wait they boarded the plane.  An uneventful flight saw them arrive in London at 2200.  By the time they landed Owyn had watched Sherman and Mr. Peabody four times.

Tracy had planned to stay the night in London and take the train in the morning.  As she walked past the Information desk Tracy decided to ask about her options.  The Information Specialist recommended a coach instead.  They ran all night and would be much cheaper.  On the spot Tracy booked two coach tickets to Exeter and off they went.

The station was right at the airport so they jumped on the Coach and headed off into the night.  Owyn slept on and off and Tracy dozed and the driver drove.  They arrived in Exeter and got off to an empty parking lot.  There was a cab stand, but no cabs.  As Tracy was trying to figure out how to call someone to come get them a cab pulled up.  The driver refused to help them, since he hadn't been directed there by central dispatch.  Tracy carefully noted the name of the cab company, and then called one of the other ones.  They sent someone out, nicely allowed them to pay by credit card as she still had not been able to get any pounds and he got them to the farm.

Tracy didn't have a key, and since we were expecting her mid morning we had locked the doors.  She peered through the windows and saw Rhys' glasses sitting on a table.  Sure that she had found the right cottage she pounded on the door.  She pounded on the window.  Finally, Nana heard something and came down to see what all the ruckus was.  Tracy and Owyn were reunited with the rest of the family! Oh happy day had by all.
